Spring clean your life and get in a refreshed mood! Spring is the time of new beginnings, it naturally brings feelings of freshness, and it’s a rebirth. We wear lighter clothes, nature gets even more beautiful, the weather gets warmer, and everything breathes renewal. It’s a great chance to re-consider your life and throw away anything that doesn’t work anymore and embrace positivism. Talking from my personal experience, these were the most important steps I’m still working on, that actually made a difference on how I feel.
7 steps to spring clean your life
1. Wake up early.
Not once, but every day. This requires sleeping early too; make sure to get seven to nine hours of sleep, which will leave you rested, energized and calm. Creating a morning ritual could help. How you start your day has a huge influence on the rest of it.
2. Clean your house.
The weather gets warm, so inevitably you will have to make some changes in the decoration. Chase this opportunity to clean and re-organize the whole house. Living in a place you like is crucial for your mood; this is your shelter. Get rid of the things you no longer use or like, and think of innovative ways to use the stuff you already have.
3. Clean out your online presence.
Spending time online should make you feel more organized and relaxed. Delete accounts you no longer use, unsubscribe from newsletters you are not interested at, and get rid of all the unnecessary information coming. Update your friend-list on Facebook, remove anyone you don’t care about learning their news and you don’t have to “like” every page you find, be selective. Apply these principles to Pinterest, Twitter, etc. Your future self will thank you.
4. Take care of your body.
Working out will burst your confidence! Start exercising more or less, even if not daily, never let a week go without having worked out at least two or three times. Eat healthy, but don’t deprive yourself. Your food has a huge influence on your energy and appearance. Choose healthy foods, as vegetables, fruits and juices. Drink a lot of water. Never skip breakfast, it boosts metabolism and set the path for a healthy lifestyle and nutrition.
5. Get rid of toxic people.
Don’t spend time with people you secretly despise. Toxic relationships and “frenemies” add negativity to your life. Get rid of them, and invest in the ones that really matter to you.
6. Clean your wardrobe.
You should throw away/donate/sell the clothing you no longer wear/like/fit. You don’t need a tone of items. An organized and practical wardrobe brings you closer to lovely outfits, and makes it easier to find the pieces you want.
7. Start a new hobby.
Want to learn something new? What about dancing, learning a foreign language or taking care of plants? Trying new things can teach you a lot for yourself. Think of something you don’t know, but would love to and give a try.
